Trouble backing up

Pulling hand brake locks up right rear wheel.
This needs to be checked to avoid accidents.

Rear wheel bearings were changed at the same time.

The two cables need to bee loosened, they are clamped with two brackets holding them above the heatshield.

The frear muffler needs to be unhooked and rested on the torsion bar.

Unhook muffler.

Lowest point it can rest on.

Sometime in the cars life the exhaust shields have been removed and there were no bolts holding it in place, only rivets.
They need to be drilled.

Heat shield removed and exhaust to the side gives a good overview.

Both drums removed and cables unhooked from the brake shoes.
The to 8mm bolts did not survive, all needs to be replaced

LHS had to be cut since it was completely locked in place at drum inlet hole.

Removing mounts

Fastened with two easy bolts and one hard to reach above heat shield.
Cables on both sides perhaps does not need to be replaced but is recommendeed due to how complicated the assembly is.

Installing the cables

Clean the threads and install the new cables into clips, make sure the bolts are threading correctly before using ratchet.

heat shields are riveted.

Adjustment

On the rear of the drum there is a rubber cap, remove it and get access to the girlig like screw.

Center the brake shoies by pumping the handbrake ea few times.
the presetting can be done by pulling the handbrake up four clicks
and then tightening the pads until the drum locks up enough by hand force only.

loosen the handbrake and the drum should be completely free.
to fĂnalize, pump the pedal some twienty times and then pull the handbrake twenty times as well, it will then have self adjusted as long as all parst are well greased and moveing freely.

Replace the rubber cap

Old cables shows signs of salt getting in an strting to corrode. definetly time to replace both.
